Prospectus is excited to be supporting an international membership organisation in their search for an Interim Director, Chevening Secretariat to cover a maternity leave starting in May 2021. This is a unique, crucial senior management position with a complex membership organisation within the higher education and international sphere.
The Director, Chevening Secretariat will lead a team of approximately 50 (5 direct reports) in its management of this flagship scholarship programme. You will work closely with the FCDO to ensure the highest level of service delivery against contract KPIs and will advise the FCDO on how policy will impact on strategy and objectives for the programme. You will identify new opportunities for developing the programme, including opportunities for strategic partnerships in international education, scholarships and soft power. You will also represent Chevening and the organisation at ministerial, national and international meetings.
To be successful, you will need significant experience of managing large complex teams and budgets. You will have significant knowledge and experience of international relations, soft power and/or foreign policy, and an understanding of the role that scholarships can play in advancing these policies. You will have excellent stakeholder relationship skills and be capable of managing high profile strategic relationships with gravitas and confidence, as well as identifying areas for developing new partnerships.
