The Harpur Trust is a £50m turnover, place-based charity that has an enormous impact in Bedford - a town just over 40 minutes from London St Pancras, with a thriving community of independent shops, cafes, students and businesses.
The Harpur Trust's aim is for everyone to have pride in the community and to realise their own potential. They give grants to local community projects, awarding over £11m over the past 10 years. They support, promote and provide education opportunities. They also offer accommodation for Bedford's older people.
We are delighted to be working with The Harpur Trust to recruit an Interim Senior Grants Manager to join its busy team. This vital role will ensure the grantmaking programme continues to run smoothly during a busy strategy development project. This person will manage the Community Programmes Director's case load of grants whilst supporting other aspects of the grants related work.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated grants management experience ideally in an education based environment but definitely in a community driven charitable foundation. This person will have worked in grants teams and will have supported other staff in their own development in addition to having covered assessments, writing reports, making decisions and monitoring and evaluating programmes and grant applications, awards and post award support. A knowledge of the Bedford area and surrounding region will be very advantageous indeed. An effective programme manager, a complete finisher and a friendly and approachable person, the successful candidate will work well as part of a team but will also be happy working autonomously.
To apply, please submit a Word Document version of your CV; cover letters are not required at this stage.
