Prospectus is delighted to be working with a leading public research university to recruit an Operations Officer. This role is offered on a full-time basis for a 6-month period with an immediate start. The role will be based on campus 3 days a week, with the other 2 days working remotely.
The Operations Officer will be responsible for the day to day support in operational management for the team, compliant with university policies and promotes best practice in the group. You will provide high quality grant management, finance and HR support for the department and their portfolio of projects, including the preparation of budget reconciliations and re-forecasts. You will also support with research administration such as supporting the set-up of data transfer agreements, collaboration agreements and sub-contracts. This is an extremely varied role which will allow the successful develop their existing skills whilst having exposure to a busy research team.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar role within the Higher Education sector. You will have experience of financial planning and implementation including, preparing budgets and be highly numerate with proven analytical skills to underpin strategic financial strategic decisions and procedure. You will have excellent communication and negotiating skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Experience of building an effective network across a complex organisation and with external stakeholders is also essential to the role Knowledge of research practice and policy in health (bioscience/ medicine), managing a team, and using complex databases and management information systems would be highly advantageous.
