The Postcode Trusts are all supported by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. They contribute to a wide range of charities and good causes working across a number of different thematic and geographic areas including care, culture, education, arts, environment, human rights, equality, health, sport and animal welfare.
People’s Postcode Lottery started as a small pilot project in 2005 and today, 68% of British postcodes play and over £750m has been raised for 9,000 charities and good causes. The Postcode Trusts each now distribute between £2.5m and £14m per year.
We are seeking six new Trustees to sit across three of the Postcode Trust ‘clusters’. The new Trustees should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Two Trustees, one with financial knowledge to become Treasurer; with knowledge or experience of one or more of the following thematic areas: Children and Young People; Community Development; Poverty Prevention; Education and Employment; Animal Welfare.
• Two Trustees with knowledge or experience in issues in the International Development and Human rights sector(s) including Health; Education; Gender Equality and Justice Issues.
• Two Trustees with knowledge or experience of one or more of the following thematic areas: Environmental Conservation and Protection; Climate Innovation and Action; Biodiversity, Habitat and Wildlife Restoration; connecting people with nature. National and international experience are desirable.
The Postcode Trusts are committed to ensuring that principles of equality, diversity and inclusion underpin their approach to their governance, activities, and beneficiaries. They know that equality, diversity and inclusion strengthen the work that they do and leads to better outcomes for their beneficiaries, and greater societal impact. On behalf of the Postcode Trusts, we actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and from all sections of the community to apply for these Trustee roles.
