Prospectus is delighted to be supporting an outstanding international development & women empowerment organisation to recruit their new Programme Development Manager.
This is an exciting new opportunity playing a pivotal role in managing complex partnerships and supporting programme implementation. This role will work with colleagues internationally across Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Reporting to the Director of Programmes, the post holder will ensure the effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, making sure projects are achieving key milestones and that day-to-day activities are on track. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Last but not least, you will provide technical and programme management support to the fundraising team concepting ideas and specific technical inputs to proposals led by fundraisers across the organisation.
We are looking for an innovative thinker and self-starter with significant experience managing complex international development projects within an NGO, government or the private sector. You will have exceptional grant management skills including the capability of engaging directly with complex donors, both in person and via written reports. You will be confident working with project management tools such as logframes, workplans, and risk matrices and will have a good understanding of proposal management, including project design and proposal writing. You will have excellent relationship management skills, strong attention to details and an ability to effectively prioritise between competing deadlines and objectives.
It is desirable - but not essential - to have experience of managing programmes with a focus on sustainable agriculture, value chains, or enterprise acceleration.
