Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting a national animal welfare charity to recruit for a Public Affairs Officer - Wales. This role will implement the delivery of the charity's public affairs activities, across Wales.

Please note, the location of this role is flexible within Wales, however you must be able to travel to Cardiff and Bridgend on a regular basis.

As the Public Affairs Officer you will be responsible for implementing the public affairs programme in your allocated region of responsibility, to raise awareness of the charity and their policies and positions amongst key opinion formers. This primarily includes Local Government and the devolved parliaments/assemblies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable public affairs experience, more specifically at a local governmental level with knowledge of the political landscape within the UK. You will also have excellent networking and influencing skills with the ability to engage high level stakeholders within Government, Parliament and the voluntary sector. Due to the nature of this post, you must also be comfortable around dogs.
