Prospectus is delighted to be working with Branches Hostel, the service provider of Waltham Forest Churches Night Shelter (WFCNS). The Hostel is based in Waltham Forest, East London and provides short-term accommodation, support and advocacy for former rough sleepers and single homeless people. They are now recruiting for an experienced Resettlement Worker to provide a knowledgeable, practicable and personalised resettlement service for individuals moving on from Branches Hostel.
As Resettlement Worker you will provide a tailored resettlement service for individuals and former residents of Branches Hostel. This will include ensuring that service users move-on to appropriate accommodation which supports their needs and their wellbeing, and ensuring that service users acquire relevant life skills that support with their independent living. You will work effectively both internally and externally, ensuring timely and effective liaison with Support Workers, Branches' in-house CBT Practitioner and external agencies to ensure the best move-on opportunities for all service users.
To apply for this role, you must have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable client groups with complex needs and of delivering tailored, needs-orientated resettlement support. You must have a good knowledge of the support needs of former rough sleepers and homeless individuals, and of risk assessing and SMART goal setting. You must have a good working knowledge of housing regulation, welfare benefits and appeals, relevant to Branches Hostel's client group. Overall you will have fantastic communication skills, able to build relationships with a wide range of people, and will be wholly passionate about supporting vulnerable homeless individuals to independency.
