Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be working with The Climate Group to recruit a Senior Communications Officer who play a critical role in driving and implementing their international media and communications strategy. The Climate Group has a clear goal to create a world of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, with a greater prosperity for all. This role is offered as a 3 month contract (with a possibility to extend) and they are looking for someone to start immediately.

The overall purpose of this role is to lead the day to day promotional communications to support recruitment to their campaigns, build their presence in international sectors, proactively work in ensure internal and external buy in and brief senior managers ahead of media interviews. You will also develop story arcs on topical issues and lead social media content for their RE100, EV100 and EP100 campaigns.

To be successful as a Senior Communications Officer you will have substantial experience in building and maintaining media relationships, be able to use analytics to make evidence-based recommendations and proven success in supporting impactful campaigns. You will be outcome driven and comfortable managing competing deadlines and workloads. An interest in climate change/sustainability in hugely desirable.
