Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
£17,290 pro rata (£9.50 per hour)
Permanent, Part-time
Job description

Prospectus is excited to be working with a fantastic charity, supporting families in need. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks each day, including allocating families, supporting families, checking facilities, completing spot-checks, filling in data spreadsheets and writing letters. You will be expected to get stuck in and work together as a team. Offering the families a high level of service and support.

The purpose of the position is to work across accommodation which supports families at a time of need. You will play a vital role in offering them support that will alleviate the stress of needing accommodation while they are locally based, using a family health service. As one of the Social Care Assistants, you will play a part in the day to day running of the accommodation, supporting the families and making sure they have adequate facilities and support. Duties will also include preparing for the arrival of families, welcoming the parents/guardians, introducing them to the facilities available to them. You will work closely with the local hospital, prioritising the allocation of accommodation effectively, and consistently acting in a confidential and safe manner, as well as liaising directly with families, addressing and resolving any concerns.

To apply for this role, you must be warm, approachable, and deeply empathetic, with experience ideally of supporting families in difficult situations, or in a position that has transferable skills. Previous experience as a Care Worker or Support Assistant would suit this position.

You must have basic IT skills (in Excel and Word), in order to complete spreadsheets and track data, and send letters where required. You will be an effective, calm problem-solver, with the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.

This is a highly rewarding position within a lovely, friendly, supportive environment. There is a huge amount of variety in this position and each day will be different!

The position is available to start immediately for the successful applicant or once your current notice has been completed. This is a permanent position and will be subject to rights to work checks, appropriate references being received and an enhanced DBS check.
