Phoenix Futures are a remarkable organisation who have been helping individuals, families, and communities to recover from drug and alcohol abuse, across the whole of London, for over 50 years. They specialise in psychosocial treatment and support and focus on a sustainable Recovery strategy. They have recently launched a new pan-London service in April 2022, and are now looking for 3 Specialist Substance Use Outreach Practitioners to join their growing team.
As Phoenix Future's new Specialist Outreach Practitioner, you will deliver outreach support and appropriate brief interventions to people who are rough sleeping in London, improving their readiness to access drug and alcohol treatment. You will participate in a psychological and trauma informed approach to service delivery, working effectively with stakeholders and referral partners across London (including community treatment agencies, hostels, day centres and rehab providers). You will work as part of a small team of 6, managing a small caseload, providing skilled and focused interventions to a variety of people with substance use issues.
To apply for this role, you will need significant experience in working with individuals who have been affected by substance use, homelessness or other forms of disadvantage, ideally on an outreach basis. You will have the ability to manage a caseload of up to 15. Due to the nature of the role you will be willing to work flexibly, maintain multi-agency relationships and work under pressure. Overall you will be passionate, visionary and proactive, taking a hands-on approach to help ready rough sleepers to access services and treatments they need, to aid their recovery.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hour per week, Monday- Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs of the service and the occasional weekend day may also be required. The option of hybrid working is available Monday and Friday. All travel is expensed when working on an outreach basis. Bespoke training will be provided.
