Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be working with a leading public research university in their search to recruit a Student Fees and Funding Lead Officer who will lead activities relating to fees and funding (including loans, bursaries and scholarships) for all of the university students.

The Student Fees and Funding Lead Officer will work across Registry and with other departments to oversee the day to day duties of the Student Funding and Financial Support including the policy, systems and general administration. You will provide advice to students (including prospective students) and staff, and maintain accurate and up to date online guidance, on all areas of student tuition fees and funding, including educational loans (UK Student Loans, US Federal Loans and others), and internal and external bursaries and scholarships. You will also liaise closely with external agencies to facilitate student applications and ensure compliance with evolving requirements, including gathering data and the co-ordination of returns as required.

To be successful, you will have experience of complex administration tasks, in a higher education sector including working to strict policies and procedures, conducting financial assessments and working with large complex datasets. You will have an analytical approach to problem solving, and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You will have a strong understanding of current issues in Higher Education, including statutory, regulatory and funding frameworks. Experience of student funding especially in relation to US Federal Aid, and UKRI scholarships will be advantageous to the role and exposure of using financial information systems such as Agresso would be highly desirable. Overall, they are looking for a team player with the ability to line manage, who has exceptional customer service skills, highly developed communication styles and be able to provide a prompt and professional service responsive to the needs of students, using diplomacy and empathy.
