An exciting opportunity has arisen at one of London's leading universities using education, research and enterprise to transform the lives of their students. They are currently recruiting for a Student Funding Officer to support the wider team in offering a specialist support and advice service, enhancing student's ability to fulfil their academic and personal potential.
As the organisation's Student Funding Officer, you will provide details advice and guidance on student funding, welfare and financial capability both face to face, via email and on the telephone. You will provide advice on the best solution, drafting appeals and complaints documents. The post-holder will be required to keep up to date with relevant development and changes in student funding and welfare benefits, ensuring the highest quality advice and service is given. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will process bursaries and scholarships on behalf of students as well as processing payments. Along with understanding calculations to determine cost of attendance and student eligibility, you will also understand and keep up to date with US Federal Aid regulations.
To be considered for this position, you will be a proven professional with previous experience working in a similar role within an educational institution. You will possess specialist working knowledge of UK statutory student support regulations coupled with experience of providing advice and guidance to students. Experience of advising students on welfare benefits including assessment calculations and entitlement is essential to this role. You will also have exceptional communication skills with the ability to work proactively and act with initiative together with excellent numeracy and IT skills including MS office packages. Experience of case management is also essential to this post.
