Job description

Prospectus is thrilled to be supporting Young Lives vs Cancer in their search for a Technology Service Desk Manager to take the lead responsibility for providing 1st and 2nd line support across both the IT and Management Information Systems (MIS) functions. Young Lives vs Cancer's mission is to ensure that everyone under 25 with cancer, and their families, get the support they need to thrive, not just survive. Please note this role is offered as part of the London or Bristol team, with a minimum expectation of 2 days a week in the office.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Service Desk is operating effectively and efficiently with any risks/issues escalated and processes and metrics frequently reviewed as well as lead the Service Desk Team communicating vision & plans and ensure team members are set realistic targets and ensure all systems, processes and procedures are documented and regularly maintained. This role is a mixture of team leadership and providing hands on support. You will keep abreast of new technologies, develop a good understanding of stakeholder needs across the organisation and regularly monitor trends in service desk queries to inform where gaps to guidance and user understanding exist and where improvements can be made to improve self-service.

To be successful as a Technology Service Desk Manager, you will have experience of managing a multi-site geographically dispersed Service Desk function, providing direct 1st/2nd line support to users and have excellent people management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor and encourage staff to continually improve and develop. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications and Office 365 are vital, alongside the ability to diagnose IT system failures and adapting technical requirements to form solutions to business needs.
