8,855 people slept rough in London last year and there is no doubt the figure will increase dramatically this year. Thames Reach's mission is to assist homeless and vulnerable men and women to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives.
Director of Property
Thames Reach is an organisation that provides services to people affected by rough sleeping. To support our core delivery we own a significant range of property assets; non-residential properties used to deliver services; and properties bought commercially to house users of our services on a private rented basis.
We now wish to set up a registered provider subsidiary to take ownership of one of our larger hostels; explore options for stock transfer where we manage properties on behalf of other housing associations; and increase our support to local managers to ensure the regular maintenance and improvement of our properties to optimise the benefits for people we serve.
The Director of Property is a newly created role on our Senior Management Team that has been established to assist the organisation in delivering on these ambitions by developing a new organisational property development strategy. We are looking for commercially minded candidates with significant experience in asset management and property development across multiple sites within the social and supported housing sectors. Critically, you will also bring a determination to contribute to addressing the issues causing homelessness and social exclusion.
In return we can offer you a working environment that is; service user-led; diverse, open, honest and fair; with staff who are characterised by their compassion and commitment to ending street homelessness. Thames Reach was listed as one of the top 100 not-for-profit companies to work for in the Best Companies accreditation scheme 2020.
