Essex Wildlife Trust is the county's leading conservation charity, committed to protecting wildlife and inspiring a lifelong love of nature. We manage nature reserves and discovery parks across the county, providing outstanding outdoor learning and preserving places of wonder. Founded in 1959 by volunteers, we protect over 8,400 acres of land across 87 sites and are supported by 39,000 members. Our climate is in crisis and nature needs our help. At this critical and exciting time with a new ambitious strategic plan for the next five years, we are looking for Trustees that share our values and commitment to a wilder Essex.
We are particularly interested in senior professionals with experience in the following areas:
- Fundraising and membership - Experience of managing significant successful fundraising campaigns. Direct experience from a membership organisation would be advantageous.
- Data and insight - A background in data, monitoring and analysis, to support us to demonstrate our impact.
- Visitor engagement, catering and retail - Commercial experience in e-commerce, restaurants or shops.
- Ecology - We are interested in candidates that have a background within wildlife conservation or ecology from an academic or practical perspective.
IT and information security - Senior experience in this area would be extremely useful.
