Job Description

Following up our latest brand campaign, we now need your help to get our ‘Man of Men’ badge out there and increase our brand awareness while welcoming donations at selected train and tube stations in London. In your role as a Lead Volunteer you will be our key contact and responsible for the smooth running of the campaign. 

What do I do?

  • Meet with Prostate Cancer UK staff before the day to get fully briefed on the campaign.
  • Be the first one to arrive on the day at the agreed location.
  • Be in contact with station/ shopping centre staff on the day.
  • Welcome volunteers as they come for their shifts, briefing them on where to go, what to do and how to stay safe.
  • Give out materials to volunteers and collect them back up when they finish their shifts.
  • Keep other volunteers motivated and enthusiastic
  • Encourage by-passers to get one of our pin badges in support of Prostate Cancer UK. Ask for donations politely and help increase our brand awareness.
  • Take responsibility for any donations raised and store them safely throughout the day.
  • Count donations and bank them to the Prostate Cancer UK account within the timelines agreed.
  • Attend a debrief meeting with the Campaign Manager and the Volunteer Engagement team to give feedback and address any issues that came up on the day.
  • Follow Prostate Cancer UK’s policies and guidelines.

When?

Choose from: Saturday 5th October – Sunday 6th October – Wednesday 9th October – Thursday 10th October

Times

We will need you for at least two hours between 7am and 7pm on selected locations.

The activity is organised in shifts so we'll agree with you how much time you are willing to give and will plan around your availability.

Do I need any training?

No training required. You will receive a full briefing from us containing named contacts and other volunteer details as well as travel details and a plan for the day.

As you’ll be handling money, you will go through a quick reference check. You will need provide 2 referees.
