What the job involves
Working in a dynamic, fast moving and fun environment, no two days will be the same. You could be talking to volunteers about setting up a local hub, working with colleagues on developing a new role, facilitating a knowledge update on zoom, or talking to a business about our awareness services.
You’ll support our work raising awareness of prostate cancer in workplaces and other organisations, online and face-to-face across the UK. As part of a team, you’ll enable volunteers to engage at a level that’s right for them, deliver great customer service and build strong working relationships.
We’re looking for someone with an interest in sports to join our friendly team. Our work in sport allows us to reach and connect with men, raise awareness of prostate cancer, raise valuable funds to support current and future research, and support those on a journey with the disease. You’ll be working on volunteer involvement across our sport engagement initiatives.
What we want from you
Great interpersonal and communication skills and an interest in sports. A confident user of database, web and digital applications and a multi-tasker comfortable managing a busy and varied workload. You may also have community fundraising or customer service experience.
Why work for us?
We’re here to stop prostate cancer killing men and damaging bodies and lives. We unite the brightest minds in science and healthcare and the most passionate and caring people to help men live long and live well. As the number of men diagnosed with prostate cancer continues to rise, we continue to make advances in research to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment and support so that we can build a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer.
Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we fight for a better future for men.
The support we’ll provide
Join our team and you’ll be working at an award-winning charity that will support you to develop your skills and expertise. We’re particularly proud of our agile working arrangements which allow (as appropriate to the role) for flexibility around where and when we carry out our work to ensure we can achieve the best results for the charity, at the same time as balancing our working lives with life’s other commitments!
We also offer a competitive benefits package including generous leave entitlements, season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, an enhanced contributory pension scheme, life insurance and group income protection as well as free advice and support on pretty much anything via our Employee Assistance Programme.
Our teams, supporters, partners, and those living with prostate cancer, come from all walks of life. We draw upon the difference in who we are, what we’ve experienced and how we think to build a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer. Not only is it the right thing to do, it makes our charity stronger and helps us reach more people. If you share our ambition we would love to hear from you.
Location: Our Head Office is in London Bridge (currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions); we also have an office in Glasgow. This role will initially be home based (any UK location) but can be office based as Covid restrictions lift and will require some travel across the UK at that time.
