Homestore is a charity project that has been operating now for over 30 years. What Homestore does is simple – it provides a way for local people to donate furniture they no longer require, safe in the knowledge that it will only be available to people who are on low income – the social benefit is locked in.
We are looking for hard working individuals who are excellent at making things happen, who are motivated by the ethos of Homestore and will take pride in offering our customers the very best service we can; compassionate, dignified and professional.
Homestore supports around 1,900 households every year and has a strong reputation as a reliable and consistent east London charity project. There is a small staff team, plus the input of a number of volunteers and work placements each year, who each need supervision and support in their role.
We’re looking to bring in two energetic sales and administrative officers to support the operations of Homestore on a daily basis. This will involve overseeing the day-to-day working of the store, including customer relations, finances, handling emails and calls, and ensuring data is recorded – while supporting store volunteers to serve customers.
This is a role – and an organisation – that will suit those who are looking for a close-knit and supportive working environment, and understand the need to be flexible and sometimes all-hands-on-deck. The rewards will be in having a varied workload, within a friendly work environment and making a direct contribution to the charitable aims of Quaker Social Action.
