Raw Material, a Brixton-based creative arts and music centre for young people and adults, are seeking an experienced Administration and Finance Officer to join their growing team.
Creative industries and live music venues are facing a time of unprecedented crisis, but at Raw Material we believe that arts and music, delivered in a socially and culturally relevant way, still have the power to positively change and shape people’s lives.
Our base in Brixton houses recording studios, a band rehearsal space, a production suite and DJ booths, and our work takes place here as well as in the community: in hospitals, in museums, with voluntary and community organisations, in schools and colleges, and beyond. Our award-winning programme Raw Sounds works with people with people accessing mental health services, providing music training, creative and pastoral support, and routes into mainstream education and employment.
We are looking for an organised and experienced Administration and Finance Officer - you'll need practical experience and to be somebody who enjoys working proactively as part of a small team, as well as excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a logical and systematic approach to implementing and maintaining financial management systems and processes. We want to work with somebody who is a keen advocate for young people, mental health, and the transformational power of music and creativity.
Applications are particularly welcome from people who represent the cultural diversity of the Brixton area, and/or those who have lived experience of mental ill health. Hours are flexible: due to the part-time nature of the job, it could suit a parent wanting to work within school hours, for example.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
