We are looking for a Legacy and In Memory Lead for an incredible hospice, to be responsible for managing the implementation of the legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans.
This is a Hybrid role with 4 days a week in the Essex office.

The Role
Lead the delivery of planned activities and promotion of legacy and in memory fundraising products to achieve budget net income and grow the active support base.
Project manage all elements required to deliver planned activities.
Work closely with the Marketing team to develop on and offline marketing materials for legacy and in memory fundraising activities.
Support with line management of the Supporter Care Assistant where necessary.
The Candidate
Significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising.
Experience of developing and promoting in memory and/or legacy fundraising products.
Experience of using a variety of on- and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to acquire and develop donors / customers.
Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.

Responsibilities for this orle will include:
- Lead on budgeting, forecasting and the production of the monthly management accounts including commentary.
- Preparation of the annual financial statements alongside management of the audit, acting as the auditors main point of contact.
- Process quarterly VAT returns, assist with reconciliations and authorise payment runs.
- Oversee the checking of monthly staff payroll, collaborating with the outsourced payroll provider.
- Work closely with the CFO on production of the board packs.
- Assist the CFO with supervision of two Accounts Assistants, offering necessary support, guidance and training[KM1] .
This full time Management Accountant role will officially be based out of the charity’s head office in central London however flexible working from home will be on offer after the first few months. This position would best suit a part-qualified Management Accountant who is looking to progress in their career.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previously led on either month and year-end reporting.
- Be a strong communicator.
- Have previous experience working in the not for profit sector.

When a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer, their whole world (and their family's) can feel like it's falling apart. Their anxieties are deep. Their education, mental health and social lives suffer. Their futures feel very uncertain. Young Lives vs Cancer is the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers dedicated to providing tailored psychosocial support to children and young people with cancer, and their families. They stop at nothing to make their voices heard and their unique needs understood, so they can get the right care and support at the right time.
About the Role
As part of the Income Generation team, you'll be responsible for delivering the philanthropy strategy and building strong relationships with high-value donors and grant-making organisations.
Your role will be to engage potential and existing supporters, understand their motivations, and secure five and six-figure donations to support our mission. You will also build donor pathways and provide exemplary stewardship to build long-lasting relationships with donors. As an expert in philanthropy, you'll have a high level of autonomy and will need to use your initiative to develop and drive forward opportunities.
About you
You are an experienced philanthropy fundraiser with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of securing significant grants. You'll be managing an established trusts programme and leading on developing the philanthropy programme. You'll work with colleagues across the team to identify opportunities for growth within the existing portfolio of corporate partnerships, major donors, events, and trusts. You'll also be up to date with key market trends, activities, and changes in the sector.
To excel in this role, you'll need to have exceptional written skills and the ability to absorb complex information and translate it into clear, logical, and appropriate communications. You'll also have excellent verbal and communication skills.
As a Philanthropy Lead, you'll have a high level of influence and negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of the needs of all high-value audiences. You'll be able to work as part of a team, collaborating with peers, managers, and executives.
