Your Role:
As a Development Officer, you'll play a vital role in nurturing relationships with donors and alumni across our three campuses. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Donor Engagement and Stewardship: Cultivate and steward relationships with prospective and existing donors, driving our fundraising efforts forward.
- Fundraising Events: Organise engaging events for parents and alumni, contributing to our fundraising success.
- Collaborative Strategy: Work with our development team to shape and execute fundraising campaigns, ensuring we meet our income targets.
- Alumni Relations: Provide support to our alumni community, keeping them engaged and informed about school developments.
- Communication: Assist in crafting compelling fundraising communications and appeals, amplifying our impact.

A beloved national children’s charity are in search of a Community Fundraiser on a 12 month FTC, and Harris Hill are delighted to be assisting them with this search. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate student or someone who is looking to move into the charity sector.
The area covered by the role is Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, and within this area you will engage, inspire and encourage a range of individuals and local groups to fundraise on behalf of this incredible organisation. Although this role doesn’t involve any direct line management internally, you will recruit, engage and manage individual volunteers and groups. If you love meeting people, building relationships, and seeing first-hand the life changing effects that your work can have on the lives of vulnerable children, then this role is perfect for you!
An ideal candidate should:
- Possess exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate with a broad range of audiences.
- Have strong relationship building skills, with demonstrable experience within a fundraising, sales or account management background.
- Be highly organised, dedicated and a fantastic relationship builder.
- Have a real passion for making a difference to the lives of children, and a real desire to be involved in their local community.
- have driving licence and access to a car
Salary: £26,338 - £29,986 p.a.
Benefits: 29 days annual leave (+ bank holidays) increasing to 32 days after 5 years service, excellent staff discounts, Employee Assistance Programme (including access to things such as telephone counselling; online cognitive behavioural therapy; specialist legal, consumer and debt advice; and more)
Contract type: permanent, full time (35 hours per week) – but open to condensed hours, or part time depending on the candidate.
Location: the role is homebased but requires travel acrossEssex, Norfolk and Suffolk (on average about once a week, but maybe more in busy periods)

Responsibilities within this role:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with prospective and existing and donors (under £10,000 capacity) across the three campuses
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive stewardship programme aimed at enhancing donor engagement and retention
- Support implementation of a mid-value fundraising programme to effectively solicit donations from targeted donors (under £10,000)
- Respond to alumni enquiries promptly and provide assistance or information as needed.
- Utilise the Raisers Edge database to log and track alumni communications, and change of personal details ensuring accurate and up to date records.
They are now looking for:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ideally fundraising software
- A strong desire to learn fundraising techniques and strategies with a commitment to professional development in this area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with donors, alumni and colleagues

Referral / Duty Line Worker
Temp: 6 - 8 week contract
Pay: £13-18 per hour

Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join us as a Referral Line Worker with a focus on service level admin and data/CRM management.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Referrals: Efficiently handle new referrals, ensuring a smooth and prompt intake process.
- Info Mailbox: Respond promptly and thoughtfully to inquiries received through the info mailbox, maintaining a high standard of communication.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely input of data into the system, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
- Reports: Pull reports prior to quarter-end, supporting the organisation's commitment to data-driven decision-making.
- Funding Streams: Assist in the allocation of funds to relevant service areas, ensuring financial resources are optimally utilised.
Qualifications:

- Experience in CRM management and data entry.

- Familiarity with funding stream processes is advantageous.
