The UK is experiencing a significant decline in the small charity sector, with more small charities closing each year than opening. This is concerning because 78% of small charities work on a local level, compared to only 5% of super-major charities. Charity Nest specialises in helping local charities work with big brands, ensuring the charities generate true social impact and the brands deliver on their CSR objectives.
As a Fundraiser, you will be based onsite at various venues and build relationships with the public to raise vital funds through bucket collections to support your assigned charity. You will be supported with full training and equipment for the role and be raising funds through cash and card donations whilst also raising awareness for your assigned charity. With venues across the North West, there are various locations where this role can be based including, Manchester, Preston, Liverpool, Leeds and others.
To be successful as a Fundraiser, you will have strong relationship building skills and be motivated to raise funds for meaningful causes. Ideally this person will have either some sales experience or fundraising experience. This could be from personal fundraisers such as gaining sponsorship for a challenge event, bake sales, or any other type of group or self-led fundraiser. This role will need to be available to work some Saturdays and there is daily travel of 30-90 minutes.
This role is a full-time permanent position that will be based in the North West region, dependent on your location. There is a base pay rate of £70 per day, as well as 35% commission on any funds you have raised each day.

Business Development Fundraiser

We are working in partnership with RABI who are looking to appoint an Individual Giving Fundraiser to join their team. In this newly created role, the Individual Giving Fundraiser will be primarily responsible for developing and managing individual giving income, in conjunction with other fundraising disciplines.
At the heart of agriculture and the farming community, RABI provide practical, financial and mental health support across England and Wales, to empower farming people to become financially resilient, so short-term monetary problems don’t create negative life-changing impacts.
The new Individual Giving Fundraiser will join a small, but successful fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory, ensuring that donors receive excellent care. Alongside this you will manage the relationship of their incumbent fundraising agency week by week.
You will have:
- Prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, an understanding of good stewardship practices, donor recruitment and retention, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.
- Effective relationship management and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maximise engagement with donors and supporters. A thorough understanding of individual giving, the donor journey, and individual giving programmes, with experience of working with agencies would be an advantage.
- Marketing or direct marketing experience (e.g. telemarketing) and be able to create and tailor engaging and emotive copy for a range of different channels.
- Planned and delivered activity, managed projects, evaluating results including accurate record keeping using a CRM system.
- A positive and creative approach to work, thriving in a dynamic environment, with a variety of teams, meeting multiple deadlines and the ability to multitask.

The Role

The Prince of Wales Hospice is passionate about providing specialist care for adults with a terminal diagnosis, and also those around them. The hospice offers a 13-bedroom ward for patients who need round the clock care as well as a Wellbeing and Outreach service – in total the Prince of Wales Hospice cares for over 300 people a year! Despite costing £11,000 a day to run the hospice and £4m a year, all of the services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families so the hospice is largely dependent on fundraised income.

The Role

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Major Gifts Fundraiser to join our team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for securing six-figure major gifts from individuals in a charity environment to meet ambitious targets. Your primary role will be to manage and develop relationships with wealthy and/or influential individuals and senior volunteers, inspiring and motivating them to meet objectives as per their solicitation plans. Additionally, you will manage and inspire the Philanthropy Executive and support them in executing donor cultivation events. You are an experienced Philanthropy Fundraiser with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of securing significant grants, or you should be able to demonstrate transferable skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully soliciting donations and supporting senior volunteers and trustees to do so. You should be persuasive and credible with all audiences, including those at the highest level, both internally and externally. You should also have the ability to disseminate and present complex information clearly and compellingly.
You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and to prioritise workload. We are looking for someone who is creative in their thinking and who can apply problem-solving techniques when met with complex situations. A team player with strong cross-team working, influencing, and negotiation skills is essential.

At an exciting time of growth, they are now recruiting for temporary Telephone Fundraisers to join their team, on an ongoing basis.
As a Telephone Fundraiser, you will represent a range of charities and non-profits over the phone. You will call across supporter acquisition, welcome calls, cross-sell, membership, legacy fundraising campaigns and more. You will be speaking with existing supporters who have previously donated or shown an interest in supporting the charities work, no ‘cold calling’ and will be making a strong fundraising ask on a charity’s behalf.
To be considered for this role, you will have strong background in a sales-based role, interpersonal skills transferable to telephone conversations, a confident and clear speaking voice, and the ability to follow a structure (call guide). You will also be resilient, able to handle objection, empathic and have the ability to perform to a target based working environment.
This is fully remote role, with a choice of working hours between 17.5 – 35 hours per week, shift patterns include afternoon and evenings, 12:00-4:00pm or 4:00- 8:30pm. Please only apply if you are available to start ASAP or have no more than a 1 weeks’ notice period.

To be successful in this role, you need:
- Experience using donor databases e.g. ThankQ, Raiser’s Edge etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience of working in community, corporate or event fundraising.
- Demonstrable experience of being able to research and make informed decisions to implement learning of research.
- Demonstrable experience of developing fundraising products, events or initiatives
- Ability to build relationships with supporters
- Ability to effectively communicate with different groups and supporters
- Ability to work independently and to be an effective part of a team
Salary: £31,025 - £39,765 per annum inclusive
