Essential Criteria

• Fully Qualified Accountant
• Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the whole finance function.
• Experience at a senior level as Company Secretary or equivalent
• Experienced in delivering finance system and/or ERP transformation
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop team members to their full potential.
• Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, planning and analysis.
• Excellent financial planning, annual budgeting and forecasting skills

Desirable Criteria

• Charity sector experience particularly the nature of unrestricted, designated and restricted funds, VAT Partial Exemption, Gift Aid and the Charity SORP
• An understanding of education and qualification regulation and compliance
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with Barnardo’s to find their next Video Producer.  
Barnardo’s offer a fully remote working environment; however, due to the nature of this role it is important that you are a commutable distance from London.

The current role reports into the Senior Video Producer. You will work with key stakeholders to produce powerful stories and video content in response to the identified needs of the charity, designed to engage new audiences and existing supporters and to encourage opportunities for donations, participation and partnerships.

You will deliver a creative and considered filmmaking and live streaming service, that meets the internal clients’ business objectives, and successfully delivers short film projects from concept through to post-production, within agreed timescales and budgets. The post holder will achieve this through understanding the organisation’s values, interpreting objectives, developing creative strategies and working cross-functionally and with external suppliers as and when required.

Along with the Senior Video Producer, the videographer is responsible for all Barnardo’s moving image, from actually making and producing, filming and editing video content to commissioning and managing other filmmakers to archiving and storing all films on our Resource Space (asset bank).

Key Responsibilities:

· Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings to understand, discuss and develop the creative film brief and to present concepts, gain feedback and develop the film.

· Campaign and message integration: Work alongside stakeholders to integrate messages on the video content we produce.

· Ensure Barnardo’s in-house filmmaking work has a clear focus on business efficiency and high performance, and adheres to our brand guidelines.

· Develop and deliver initial story or concept into a feasible, fully planned project.

· Project manage filmmaking and live streaming assignments from brief, managing each step from pre-production to post-production to deliver high quality films that meet business objectives.

· Research and develop filmmaking briefs in terms of subject matter, content, location and travel arrangements. Liaise with projects, service users, model agencies and suppliers as appropriate. Work within agreed timescales and budgets.

· Work through the four phases of production: Development, Pre-production, Production and Post-production. This includes taking the brief, developing the initial concept, logistics (location, models, case studies, consents), scripting, scheduling, interviewing, shooting, editing, incorporating music, effects, titles and exporting the final product.

Person Specification:

· Knowledge of current IT systems and software, such as Final Cut Pro, After effects, Adobe creative suite and MS Office.

· Strong photo editing skills, including enhancing/retouching hi-resolution images for reproduction.

· Knowledge and practical experience of supplying digital files in the correct format.

· Knowledge of printing processes with regards to the reproduction of images.

· Experience of filmmaking, including film photography and editing.

· Experience of working with all key aspects of digital film making, including, lighting techniques and digital image provision.

· Experience of taking, researching and interpreting filmmaking briefs to meet a client's requirements within a creative brand style, budget and timescale.

· Experience of organising photo-shoots or film/video shoots, including sourcing models, locations and materials.

· Experience of complying with and actively pursuing image consent/ permissions procedures.

You will be working in partnership with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties who are currently living in their own accommodation within the Birmingham area and require a period of intensive rehabilitation. Your support of individuals will be a person-centred recovery approach that focuses on developing, maintaining, and strengthening individuals’ skills, abilities, and personal resilience. 

Ideally you will be QCF/NVQ level 3 qualified or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. It is essential that you have an empathy for people experiencing mental health issues and are committed to service user involvement and empowerment. You will need to be flexible due to the shift patterns which include evenings and weekends. Shift patterns include 9.00am - 5.00pm and 1.00pm to 9.00 pm.

Domestic Abuse Support Worker 

£22,669 - £23,428 per annum

Who are they?  

Our client provides refuge and community based (outreach) support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. They offer their services to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse and need a safe place to stay, and to those out in the community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse. 

The Roles 

They have multiple roles, each varying in responsibility. Please read through the descriptions and when asked on the application page specify which role you are interested in. 

Support Worker’s 

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing practical and emotional support to women and men who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse (both in the refuge and throughout the local community). You’ll work with clients to assess needs and risks and plan a package of support and risk management individual to them.  

Some of the other duties involve: 

• Assessing referrals for both community and refuge based services 

• Supporting the delivery of group work both in refuge and local community 

• Travelling throughout service delivery area to deliver support and attendance at multi-agency meetings and work in partnership with other agencies where required to advocate for their clients and ensure risk is managed and support needs are met (e.g.: social care; police; CAB; housing departments; Job Centre and Benefits agencies) 

• Working with colleagues to provide a clean and welcoming environment for all accessing our services 

• Ensuring records (computer based case management system) are kept up to date and accurate – basic IT skills and knowledge of IT systems are advantageous!

Move On Support Worker’s 

As a domestic abuse move on worker you’ll support individuals and families within our safe accommodation to transition into settled accommodation. You’ll provide a tailored, person-centred support package to help customers achieve their goals and live a life free from abuse.  

Some other duties include: 

• Prepare customers to move on from safe accommodation services and deliver support, both in groups and one-to-one, to enable them to manage their own tenancy. 

• Support customers to set up their own home, assisting them to set up utility accounts and other household obligations. 

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to survivors and their families around their move from safe refuge. 

• Working with survivors on the transition from refuge to their own property safely, engaging in robust safety planning and risk assessing and identification. 

• Provide housing management and welfare benefit support and guidance, as well as signposting and making referrals to appropriate agencies. 

• Identifying and keeping an up-to-date register of local and national grants available to survivors in furnishing/ moving to their new home Establish and maintain quality working relationships to enable multi-agency support. 

• Engage actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions. 

• Foster positive partnerships within the multi-agency arena, working collaboratively across operational areas and the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues and available support options. 

• Working in a client-centred way to identify appropriate local and community groups that can support/ assist the survivor to integrate into their new community safely. 

• Liaise with, signpost or refer to relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, advocating for the best possible support for each survivor. 

• Undertake relevant training, ensuring continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest industry knowledge. 

• Contribute effectively to team collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to self-care within the team and the broader organization. 

Peripatetic Support Worker 

• The role of Peripatetic Support Worker is to provide comprehensive cover for accommodation and community-based services, offering practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and various forms of violence and abuse. Some other duties include: 

• Managing a diverse caseload, responding effectively to escalating and changing risk, while maintaining up-to-date casework records. 

• Facilitating tailored, high-quality case management, including the development of individual safety plans. 

• Engaging actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions. 

• Foster positive partnerships within the multi-agency arena, working collaboratively across operational areas and the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues and available support options.

About You 

They’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a support role supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals and families. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families they work with, with top notch communication skills. It is desirable if you have had experience of working within a Domestic Abuse Service.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but they welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills. 

You will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. There may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays. 

You will be required to have flexibility to travel across Derbyshire therefore driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) is essential 

All successful candidates will be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy exercise prior to the interview.

Harris Hill is looking for an interim Fundraising Assistant to support a national charity for 2 to 3 months on remote of hybrid basis, starting May 2024.

The role is full time but could be 30 hours per week. You can work remotely outside of London or hybrid inside London, supporting their mass participation team.

Key tasks and duties

Communicate with supporters on the telephone, offer tips for their fundraising, get to know them and build rapport.

Respond to supporter queries via email and social media.
