About us:

Every cup of our specialty coffee helps build new skills and reduce prisoner reoffending.

At our roastery in HMP The Mount, we train offenders in coffee industry skills with the aim of reducing reoffending in the UK. We also run barista training academies across 9 different prisons within the UK and a community training centre in East London.

Upon release, we help our graduates to find work, either in our own coffee shops, or within our network. Since 2019 we have engaged with over 400 learners across our barista academies and have brokered employment for over a quarter of those who've been released.

From bean to cup we are committed to being socially responsible. We build long-term relationships with charities and other like-minded companies whose quality, provenance, sustainability and ethics match our values. The result is a finely crafted cup of coffee which raises the bar for everyone. 

We are the largest employer of our own graduates and operate seven coffee shops in Central London. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Employment Support and Partnerships Manager to help our beneficiary group successfully enter employment with us and the wider coffee industry. 


The role involves: 

  • Management of Employment Support Coach(es) to ensure our Graduate (beneficiary group) affairs are maintained from when they first engage with Redemption in custody /community until they are established in the jobs market in their own right 

  • Establishing links with would-be Graduates whilst in prison and assess their potential for different career paths in the hospitality industry, accounting for their characteristics and ambitions

  • Ensuring up to date safeguarding practices are adhered to

  • Facilitating employment for interested Graduates either within the company or, if appropriate, refer out to partner organisations 

  • Actively building a network of partner organisations, employers and Graduates 

  • Assisting Graduates with pastoral and practical needs: parole, housing, bank account, CV, interview booking, travel arrangements etc 

  • Maintaining reliable and regular communication with every Graduate on their caseload 

  • Serving as a positive role model 

  • Promoting and enabling Graduates with the full range of opportunities we offer while exercising good judgement in creating and upholding strict boundaries

  • Acting as an emergency point of contact for Graduates and manage conflict situations

  • Day-to-day management and ensuring the most effective application of our Hardship Fund, a dedicated grant fund to help Graduates facing financial hardship 

  • Complying with all monitoring and evaluation systems for social impact statistics, collecting and monitoring information as appropriate and providing reports when required

  • Coordinating the production and publishing of the company's annual social impact report

  • Management of company Kickstart programme, liaising with DWP + gateway provider 

  • Lead trauma training sessions and conflict resolution training for all Redemption retail staff working with graduates 

  • Manage and provide external training opportunities for employment support coaches and education staff 


The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • 3+ years’ case management experience 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable people

  • Experience managing personal data

  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluating social impact

  • Partnership management experience 

  • Compliance with all HM Prison and Probation Service security requirements such as an enhanced DBS check
