Job description

Job Title: Early Intervention Worker

Salary: £27,948 per annum

Location :London - The Gaia Centre, Lambeth

This is an exciting role to support and reach out to young people aged 11 – 17 who have experienced or been effected by gender based violence. You will manage a caseload of around 15 clients, providing one-to-one emotional and practical support.

You will work in partnership with other agencies to secure the best outcomes for your clients and for other survivors of domestic or sexual violence. You will work in partnership with other agencies to deliver presentations and informal training to increase local understanding and improve the coordinated response to gender based violence, especially for young people. 

Essential Skills or Experience

You will have demonstrable experience of providing emotional and practical support within the violence against women and girls sector, preferably working with young people. You will be experienced in advocating in a multi-agency setting to secure positive life outcomes for your clients and to making the service a success.

You will be self-sufficient, assertive and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with empathy and sensitivity to build and develop supportive relationships with young people. You will maintain professional boundaries and adhere fully to Refuge’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
