Economic Tech Abuse Lead

Salary: £30,893 - £33,720 per annum (salary based on location band of successful candidate)

Refuge, an award winning national charity, is recruiting a fixed-term Economic Tech Abuse Lead working nationally across all services; all Economic Tech Abuse Leads are situated in Refuge’s services.

As an Economic Tech Abuse Lead you will provide specialist support and safety-planning around economic abuse to women and their children, with a particular focus on women in our refuges, increasing the safety of women, children. You will increase understanding and awareness on economic abuse, and how to identify and respond to these risks across all services. The post-holder will work across all refuge accommodation and outreach based services.

You will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support, informing them of the full range of civil, criminal, practical and financial options that might increase their safety and their access to economic empowerment whilst reducing social isolation and achieving personal outcomes.

With extensive practical experience of supporting a diverse range of victims of domestic violence and/or other forms of gender-based violence you will have an understanding both of the dangers of technology when used to perpetrate economic abuse and also of the ways in which technology can be harnessed to empower survivors of abuse and enable women to achieve personal outcomes. You will be a keen listener, a reflective practitioner and will have a passion for learning and empowering your clients in addition to a strong interest in the uses and potential misuses of technology.
