Job Title: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate - Social Care/Housing (FT)

The independent domestic abuse advocate will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.
The post holder will work in partnership with Children’s Social Care and Housing colleagues in improving strategic and operational links and joint working. The post holder will improve awareness and understanding amongst Children’s Social Care and Housing of domestic abuse and related support, policies and processes.
The job involves being a key partner within Warrington’s Social Care and Housing teams including offering training, expertise, advice and guidance to non-specialist professionals working with families affected by domestic abuse.
The successful candidate will have significant proven experience of providing emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic violence. You will understand the legal system in how it relates to survivors of domestic violence and have strong communication skills to deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders effectively. An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential.
