Job Title: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, Urdu Speaking (Part Time)

We are recruiting for an Urdu speaking Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team in Warrington. As an Independent Domestic violence advocate you will work closely with victims of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse, from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence at the highest risk and their children. This job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.
Post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The job involves ensuring that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment and enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.
Essential Skills or Experience
The successful candidate will have significant proven experience of providing emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic violence. You will understand the legal system in how it relates to survivors of domestic violence and have strong communication skills to deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders effectively. An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential.
