Job Description

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in 1971 and is now the country’s largest single provider of domestic violence services. On any one day, around 6,500 women and children access Refuge’s services.  It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women’s Aid.

MARAC Administrative Assistant

22.5hours per week – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 5.30pm

This exciting post involves supporting the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Coordinator  in delivering the fortnightly conferences.  The MARAC takes place between public and voluntary sector specialists to review the highest risk cases of domestic abuse and to draft a risk management  plan for each victim. The role is based in Leamington and covers the Warwickshire area.  You would be needed to attend the Rugby, North and South Warwickshire meetings.

We are looking to recruit a candidate with excellent organisational skills to provide high quality support to the coordination and administration of MARAC. You will collect and record information on MARAC cases and ensure consistency of referrals. You will work closely with the Coordinator and  liaise with partner agencies before and after meetings to ensure that actions are followed through, and prepare agendas and minutes for the MARAC.

The successful candidate will have outstanding administration skills and the ability to use initiative and judgment in dealing with colleagues and partner agencies. You will communicate clearly and concisely, in your written and oral communication and work successfully both independently and as part of a team.

You will be familiar with collecting and analysing data and have proven ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality. Experience working within a multi-agency environment is desirable, as is experience working in the field of domestic violence or public protection. However, full training and support for the role will be given
