Job description

Join our team as an Employment Engagement Coordinator!

  • 21 hours per week
  • 3 years with possibility of extension
  • £18k annual salary (£30K full-time equivalent)

As our Employment Engagement Coordinator you will be responsible for establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with businesses and generating new opportunities for the dignified and sustainable employment of our refugee clients.

What you will do:

Employer Engagement:

  1. Increase the range and number of employment opportunities available for clients which can lead to a meaningful impact in their lives
  2. Work closely with employers to secure interviews for clients
  3. Generate self-sourced leads utilising best techniques to attract vacancies and employer contacts suitable for a London caseload
  4. Generate Vocational Mentor source leads, refer Vocational Mentors internally to Volunteer Coordinator for client matching
  5. Organise and lead delivery of Employer Events, face to face meets, and webinars on key topics to help employers increase diversity in recruitment practice
  6. Maintain a good understanding of the local/regional labour market, skills sector shortage and employer needs
  7. Obtain feedback from employers on clients’ unsuccessful interviews and incorporate feedback into clients’ Personal Development Plan for upskilling and training
  8. Establish, build and nurture long term work with key partners including Job Centre Plus, Voluntary Action and Local Authorities, and ensure that their contribution adds value to RAK’s career work with clients
  9. Promote suitable vacancies to clients, assist in exploring opportunities and coordinate sessions to prepare clients for opportunities
  10. Lead the identification of employer webinar topics to increase the range and number of employment opportunities available for clients


  • Maintain appropriate information and administrative systems for the project
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project
  • Prepare and present reports on the project to funders and internally as required
  • Maintain confidential and secure personnel records on clients
  • Record employer details and contacts to customer relationship management software

General responsibilities

  • Attend internal and external training courses as appropriate. Staff are expected to keep themselves informed on current issues relating to their work
  • Represent Refugee Action Kingston at external meetings as agreed with the Line Manager

As our ideal candidate, you have the following:

  • Experience of successfully engaging with a variety of employers in recruitment related activities
  • Experience communicating effectively with senior figures
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients

Let us know if you also have:

  • Experience of liaising with employers to arrange interviews and getting feedback on candidates.
  • Ability to recognise and overcome internal and external barriers to move participants into the employment market
  • Experience working with refugee clients in advice, guidance and employability.
  • Experience in sales, marketing or negotiation
