Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established independent charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers living in Kingston and surrounding areas with funding from a broad base of grants, trusts, and the Royal Borough of Kingston. We are a friendly and dedicated team of 16 full and part time staff committed to encouraging our clients to be independent and to integrate into the wider community. We provide a holistic service offering advice and advocacy, mental health counselling, support into employment, volunteering, and training as well as ESOL classes.
We are looking for an Arabic-speaking Integration Manager to coordinate the support provided to Syrian families resettled in Kingston through the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS). The role is full-time and involves liaising daily with a cohort of families around a broad range of themes such as benefits, housing, health, education, connectedness/safety, and social inclusion. Our charity is commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames to deliver this service and as such, the integration manager submits regular monitoring and evaluation reports to a VPRS specific board composed of colleagues from the council, RAK and the local job centre. As the families become more established residents in the area and near the completion of their five years in the UK, the Integration Manager also supports them to prepare a plan for a smooth transition outside of the scheme.
The ideal candidate will be able to juggle communicating fluently in Arabic to run a client-focused service and growing partnerships with community groups and local initiatives that can benefit the project.
