London, Greater London (On-site)
£26,000 - £29,000 per year
Contract, 1 year (with plans to apply for funding to extend the role), Full-time
Job description

This role is ideal for someone who wants to use and develop their fundraising and communications skills and passions in the context of a dynamic and growing charity.

You’ll need to be a warm and friendly communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be excited about raising support for REUK’s work with young refugees. We’re looking for a proactive person with an eye for detail and a can do attitude who is willing to learn, grow and take ownership of this role.

As the Fundraising and Communications Officer, you will manage relationships with regular donors and support individuals to fundraise effectively for REUK. You’ll be the first point of contact for anyone engaging with REUK by email, be responsible for thanking donors and communicating the impact of their donations, contribute to the creation and management of fundraising campaigns and oversee the creation and distribution of our newsletter. You’ll also support our wider fundraising efforts - including from trusts and foundations - through compelling writing and administrative support, and you’ll write and schedule social media posts. You’ll create engaging assets for use across our digital marketing, keep an eye on the implementation of our brand across the organisation, and bring a creative, proactive approach to our engagement with supporters.

Please note that while we welcome applications from those with more limited experience who are willing and able to grow into the role, if you have more previous experience there is scope to take greater responsibility across all areas of the job description.

Please refer to the Job Applicant Pack for full details of the role.

We would particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of forced migration or from other backgrounds currently under represented on our team.

Application Instructions

Please fully read the applicant pack before applying.

Apply by submitting a cover letter (no more than one A4 page) and CV by 2pm on 19th July 2022. In your cover letter, please tell us:

1. Why you would like to work at REUK generally and this role specifically;
2. Why you think your skills and experience make you a good candidate for this role;
3. When you could start the job if you were to be offered it.

Applicants will be required to complete a task in advance of an interview and references will be taken up prior to appointment. Interviews will be held in London on Thursday 4th August 2022.

Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of this contract. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.
