Job description

We’re looking for someone to join our team to deliver the high quality training, advice and support that we offer to Community Sponsorship groups, who are getting ready to welcome refugees to the UK.  You’ll be one of the faces of our Training and Support programme, delivering training directly to the groups who are seeking approval to welcome resettled refugees into their community.  Delivering standardised training on-line, you’ll be gathering and sharing best practice between groups and through our network of stakeholders.  

A key part of this role will be delivering direct support to groups of volunteers at various stages of their Community Sponsorship journey, including as they form and right through to after they’ve welcomed a refugee family.

You will be producing, reviewing and publishing new content for our training website and working as part of the Reset team to design and deliver resources to support groups in the Community Sponsorship process. 

You will be liaising with sponsor groups to offer advice and support on their applications, mapping trends of barriers groups are facing and designing interventions to overcome these barriers. 

You will be part of our advice service to groups and other stakeholders in the Community Sponsorship programme.

Responsibilities

These responsibilities are indicative of the role, however, our work changes based on the need of groups and refugees supported through the Community Sponsorship programme:

  • Providing advice and support on applications to groups prior to submission to the Home Office
  • Preparing and delivering training online to Community Sponsorship groups who have been approved as sponsors
  • Providing post-arrival advice to groups who are supporting resettled refugees, including sourcing specialist advice where necessary
  • Creating engaging online content for use by community sponsorship groups at all stages of their Community Sponsorship journey
  • Connecting Groups to share best practice
  • Administering the Reset training website
  • Story gathering and dissemination of best practice and trends in CS
  • Keeping abreast of developments in Community Sponsorship and wider resettlement programmes
  • Acting as part of the Reset team to scale Community Sponsorship across the UK and carrying out reasonable tasks as required

About you

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering training to groups or individuals who volunteer their time
  • Experience of creating engaging content
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience of customer service
  • Knowledge of refugee resettlement
  • Experience of designing and using evaluation tools
  • Willingness to work flexibly – this role will require some evening work

 

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Experience of using a content management system
  • Experiencing of managing monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Experience of working with resettled refugees
