We know young people have the power to solve the challenges we face in our world, but they are being sidelined. We are the agency that works with young people so they can lead in solving those challenges. Whether that means supporting communities to end child marriage or prevent HIV, we work with young people to change their lives and the lives of people in their communities. Our programmes are genuinely life-changing, but can’t do any of this without talented, creative individuals at every level of our organisation.
Restless Development is run out of hubs in ten countries across Africa, Asia and in the UK and US, with a wider network of partners across the world. ABOUT THE ROLE
Restless Development is looking for a Talent Specialist to join its People & Culture Commitee. The desired post holder will:
- Have a solid background in designing, implementing and maintaining talent mapping systems
- Have substantial knowledge in how to build comprehensive and transparent successions plans
- Ideally have experience on working in an international environment
ABOUT THE PEOPLE & CULTURE COMMITTEE
The Committee is responsible for reporting into the International Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis. The Committee is responsible for assuring accountability on the execution of an agency-wide People strategy, is allocated people specific risks on the global risk register, monitors safeguarding incidents and practices as well as advising and giving support on ongoing people projects, initiatives and challenges.
Our Committee is made up of two Restless Development Trustees (one of which is the Chair of the Committee) as well as one other Committee Member and two members of Restless Development staff (People Director and Senior Coordinator). The Trustees and the Committee Members serve on a voluntary basis, and meet quarterly in London, as well as additional meetings when required.
We have grown significantly under strong leadership over the past five years, and are recognised as a leader in youth development. In all of our Trustees and Committee Members we look for dedicated professionals with fantastic interpersonal skills and a passion for international development and the role of young people in society.
As our agency continues to grow we are looking for a Talent Specialist with substantial strategic and operational experience in designing and implementing Talent and succession strategies. This individual will have substantial experience in building Talent systems and gaining buy in and engagement across a dispersed organisation. This individual will been willing to support Restless Development with the required skills and tools to drive this Talent and Succession systems forward across the Global Agency.
If selected to join our People & Culture Commitee, you will be expected to attend;
- 4 x Committee Meetings annually
- Ad hoc meetings when required
