Job description

Rethink Mental Illness is a leading charity provider of mental health services across England, we provide a very large and varied portfolio of services including Advice, Advocacy, Campaigning, Community Support, Fundraising and Housing to name a few! We currently have a great opportunity for a New Business Manager to join our dynamic Business Development team.


This is an ideal role for an experienced Business Development Coordinator with a keen interest in mental health or social care. In this role the successful person will be responsible for supporting the Business Development team to identify, track and respond to relevant new business opportunities and monitor retenders for existing contracts, maintaining our underpinning systems and processes.


Duties & Responsibilities: 


  • Monitor tender portals both for notifications of new opportunities and retenders of current contracts
  • Complete Market Engagement Questionnaires, first stage selection processes, PQQ documents, and reference requirements
  • Manage and track all tender alerts, circulating weekly Opportunity Alerts and following opportunities of interest
  • Maintain the Opportunity Dashboard and ensure the team is aware of deadlines: market engagement, tender release
  • Maintain the Business Development Pipeline supporting outcomes and trends to be analysed
  • Coordinate attendance of Market Engagement Events by relevant staff and collect subsequent reports
  • Issue tender release notifications and circulate relevant documents for identified tendering opportunities
  • Maintain a contracts database tracking contract review, signature, duration, status, extensions
  • Coordinate and track contract retention activities and retender preparation with Heads of Service and Service Managers
  • Record action notes from Business Development meetings
  • Undertake desk research on markets, regions, competitors, stakeholders, potential partners
  • Coordinate partner/subcontractor due diligence
  • Take responsibility for effective filing on the team’s Shared Drive


Skills & Experience: 


  • strong communication skills
  • comprehensive administration experience
  • Excellent organizational skills organized
  • Well-developed IT, Microsoft Office and tender portals experience
  • NVQ 4 / A Levels (or equivalent) in Business or Administration is desirable
  • Experience and/or knowledge related to mental health and wellbeing is desirable
  • Knowledge in public sector procurement is desirable
