Job Title: Economics Education Campaign Manager
Job Purpose: To manage and coordinate Rethinking Economics’ economics education campaign.
Hours: 30/37.5 Hours. 4 or 5 days a week, depending on preference.
Contract duration: Fixed-term, 1 year, with a possibility to renew dependant on funding (subject to 6 months probationary period).
Salary: £22,000 per annum (based on 5 days a week)

About Rethinking Economics
Rethinking Economics (RE) is an international network working to build a better economics in society and the classroom. We started as a student movement in 2012 and have since grown to become a registered charity with a 5-person staff team. Through a mixture of campaigning, events and projects, we support 51 groups in 24 countries around the world, alongside thousands of supportive members of the public, to reform the university economics curriculum to make it more pluralist, critical and applicable to the real world.
Rethinking Economics is undertaking an exciting transition process in which we are developing and expanding the future of the organisation. This role will play an integral part of establishing the direction of the Rethinking Economics.
Rethinking Economics has two campaign strands, diversity and economics education. This role will focus on the economics education strand. The economics education strand focuses on improving economics curricula at universities around the world. In this strand you will work to support our network of students who campaign within their universities to change their curricula. You will explore avenues for creating pressure from outside of universities, and you will work with members of the network to incubate and facilitate projects that will lead to long-term change.
The Campaigns Manager role for Rethinking Economics is based with the Manchester staff team in the UK. The role is multi-faceted, with half of your time being spent on supporting the needs of our international student movement, as well as working on high level strategies and projects. The purpose of the role is to energise and invigorate the student campaign, as well as leading in the direction of RE’s well known curriculum reform campaign.
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual, who is a strategic thinker, and able to work well independently, as well as part of a staff team.
Rethinking Economics is a transitioning organisation and seeks an ambitious and driven individual able to develop with the role, and take on increasing responsibility.

Terms and Conditions
Contract: This role is for 4 or 5 days a week, for an initial fixed term of 1 year with a 6-month probationary period.
Salary: £22,000 per annum (based on 5 days a week), Rethinking is committed to working towards annual pay increases, funding permitting.
Location: Our offices are in Ancoats, Manchester. Staff will be expected to work in these offices.
Hours: We aim to offer a flexible working environment. The post holder will working (30 hours) 4 days a week. Staff members are expected to work the occasional evening or weekend for which time off in lieu will be given. This role may involve travel to locations around the UK and/or internationally.
Holiday: 25 days pro rata in addition to statutory holidays.
