This role requires that the worker openly identifies as LGBT+.
Fixed-term contract for 1 year - 30 hours per week
This role will be part of the Brighton Refuge Accommodation Team and will link in with the specialist LGBT+ officer in the community. The post holder will provide floating support to LGBT+ domestic abuse survivors in dispersed units which form our LGBT+ refuge provision.
In addition to this core element of the role, the post holder will also at times, and according to the needs of the service, work in the generic refuge, as well as work with clients in the community alongside the other LGBT+ specialist worker.
As part of the delivery of the service, the post holder will be expected to work with members of the LGBT+ communities’ services and groups to ensure visibility of the service and enable referral pathways. They will assist in the implementation of new developments for the project and will liaise with partner agencies and other outside agencies as required.
We recognise and support all people identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans, and anyone falling under the umbrella term of LGBT+ such as queer, intersex, pansexual, gender non-binary or gender fluid, including those questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity
