Are you passionate about the impact of powerful media coverage? Do you understand what it takes to craft compelling messages and build strong relationships with the media and key stakeholders? Are you a creative strategist eager to elevate RNID’s PR efforts to new heights? If so, we want to hear from you.

The PR Manager role will sit within our Marketing and Communications team, and will be:

  • The primary point of contact for all PR communications, you’ll help develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies for the organisation.
  • You’ll be responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive and proactive PR activity schedule for the charity, and craft compelling content to entice journalists and the media to support our work. As well as responding reactively to requests the charity receives.
  • Championing best practices in PR, you’ll drive effective, integrated campaigns across the UK, ensuring a cohesive approach to both traditional and digital media.
  • When you join us, you’ll dive into projects such as Deaf Awareness Week, our ‘It does matter’ campaign, our campaign for access to Ear Wax removal services and major healthcare campaigns.
  • You’ll drive forward our work to raise awareness of the barriers facing the 18m people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, get these issues on the national agenda and start conversations around the nation’s hearing health. No day is the same – you’ll be celebrating inclusion, working the UK’s biggest TV shows, and campaigning for equal access to healthcare

You will have experience of driving forward and managing a PR function and possess a thorough understanding of how various PR channels function and how content is best delivered.

You will stay current with industry trends and provide insights to the wider team as needed. Your enthusiasm for engaging audiences through strategic PR efforts will drive our mission to reach and support as many people as possible.

You will enjoy working with different teams across the organisation to promote RNID’s campaigns focusing on health, inclusion, research and regional support. You will be flexible and adaptable, work well under pressure and able to manage multiple projects at once.

We’re the UK’s largest deaf charity making life fully inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus. Together, we campaign for an inclusive society. We connect people to practical advice and pioneer new treatments.

We are RNID: the national charity supporting the 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.

Together, we will end the discrimination faced by our communities, help people hear better now and fund world-class research to restore hearing and silence tinnitus.

We work with our communities and partners across industry, government, charity, education and more to change life for the better.

RNID has a proud history and big ambitions. We’re focused on making the greatest impact possible across the whole of the UK. We champion the latest technology and the opportunities it brings. We also know the value of a friendly face in local communities to support people where they need it most.

We champion the value of difference and equality and celebrate our diverse and inclusive workforce. We actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from BAME backgrounds or who are deaf or hard of hearing. With almost 20% of our employees having a disability we proudly hold Disability Confident Leader status and guarantee an interview for disabled applicants meeting the minimum essential criteria.

Closing date: 17 September 2024.
Interview dates: 27 and 30 September 2024.
