Job description

Are you an experienced Financial Controller who has led on multiple year-end processes? Do you want to work for a rapidly growing healthcare charity taking a leading role in critical research? If so, please read on!

Robertson Bell Finance are working with a well-known healthcare research charity to recruit an Interim Year-End Accountant. Based in Central London, the role joins their high performing team for a period of 6-8 months.

Reporting to the FD, the main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Lead and manage an experienced team of five through the year-end statutory accounts process.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity and tight financial controls across the board but focussing specifically on Purchase Orders.
  • Review gift aid submissions and carry out compliance checks on current VAT procedures.
  • Manage the relationship with the auditors, fielding any queries they have and escalating any serious problems to the FD.

The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant (preferably either ACA or ACCA qualified) with extensive experience of producing year-end accounts. Experience of working in the charity sector will be beneficial to your application but is not an essential requirement. Finally, you must have previously managed a team of at least two people.
