In this new role, you will support a growing Digital Communications team to develop excellent web and social media content for teams across the whole Academy and help to track its success by recording analytics and monitoring responses.
Engineering matters. It underpins our daily lives, drives economic growth, plays a critical role in addressing major societal challenges and helps ensure our readiness for the future, from providing a sustainable supply of food, water and clean energy, to advancing healthcare, and keeping us safe and secure.
As the UK’s national academy for engineering and technology, the Royal Academy of Engineering brings together the most talented and successful engineers – our Fellows – to advance and promote excellence in engineering for the benefit of society.
To meet this vision, the Academy undertakes a range of activities including hosting events, compiling expert reports and funding the world’s best engineers. To keep global audiences up to date with our news and opportunities, digital communications are more vital than ever.
Our growing team therefore seeks a new Digital Communications Assistant to provide support across the team responsible for the Academy’s websites, social media channels, and co-ordinated email marketing. The role will include a particular focus on migrating and improving content for a brand-new Academy website and providing support to other users to ensure content is regularly refreshed and up to date.
With experience of preparing engaging social media posts and a creative mind, you will also help compose and schedule content for the Academy’s Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram channels, engaging with key audiences from parents to policymakers to help position engineering at the heart of society.
Experience of using website content management systems and e-newsletter publishing systems would be beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given. What’s more important is that you can hit the ground running with excellent writing skills and an attention to detail ready to be deployed across a variety of platforms and formats.
You will also have excellent organisation skills, in order to maintain a growing library of digital content (including photos, videos and case studies) covering the full breath of the Academy’s activities. This includes supporting entrepreneurs launching life-changing technology around the globe, funding the very best engineering researchers exploring the sustainability challenges facing the nation, advising policymakers on innovation’s role in boosting the economy, and inspiring the next generation into a career in engineering.
We offer an unrivalled package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and the possibility of flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development. You will be based at our airy, stylish offices in a prestigious location, opposite St James's Park.
We support flexible working and would be happy to discuss working patterns with candidates.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
