Royal Academy of Engineering
London, Greater London
Up to £23,750 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone.

In collaboration with our Fellows and partners, we’re growing talent and developing skills for the future, driving innovation and building global partnerships, and influencing policy and engaging the public.

Together we’re working to tackle the greatest challenges of our age.

Providing wide-ranging support to our education policy team, you will assist in developing the Academy’s policy advice on education and skills - engaging key stakeholders in government, universities, learned societies and professional engineering bodies. We will look to you to deliver timely, informed advice via reports, workshops, events, briefings and responses to consultations, whilst updating our website, newsletters and bulletins. This will demand excellent research and writing skills, backed by a very organised and methodical approach, enabling you to plan, organise and deliver events and meetings.

With a good educational background and experienced in fast-moving professional environments, you will bring a strong interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and the policymaking process. This should be backed by considerable initiative, meticulous attention to detail and strong team-working skills, and you will ideally be familiar with the engineering profession and public policy activities. Above all, you will be determined to make a difference in everything we do - and ready to enjoy real impact on government thinking and the future of science and technology.

In return, we offer an unrivalled package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and the possibility of flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development. You will be based at our airy, stylish offices in a prestigious location, opposite St James's Park.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
