Job description

We are looking for an exceptional Programme Officer to join our Diversity and Inclusion team and help us achieve our goals.

You will join a team of dedicated diversity professionals who provide the Academy and the profession with leadership and insight on a wide range of areas including: policy development, organisational leadership, inclusive cultures, diverse networks and navigating early careers. You will report to the Senior Manager for Diversity and Inclusion working with them on a portfolio of projects focused on employers and early careers.

You will be a highly organised individual with an instinctive and well-honed ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders, from students at the beginning of their career to senior figures, in the delivery of complex events and programmes.

This is an exciting time in the development and growth of our employer engagement and early careers work. You will be responsible for:

  • launching and managing the Alumni strand of the Academy’s award-winning Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP).
  • acting as main GEEP contact for corporate partners and our delivery partner, working to support the transition and retention of hundreds of engineering graduates from under-represented backgrounds in the profession.
  • helping build a new network of engineering companies around the UK who are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion.

•managing high profile external activities to help the Academy mark events such as Black History Month and International Women in Engineering Day

You will also support the Senior Manager in the effective delivery of all employer and early careers related work including keeping key stakeholders informed of our activity, providing smooth administration for meetings and events, and maintaining communications databases.

This is a permanent position. We encourage either full time or job share applicants as the post lends itself to job share. You will be based at our airy, stylish offices in central London near St. James’ Park. We have adapted our working practices in response to Covid-19, and all staff are currently working remotely.
