Job description

Fixed term for seven months

Engineering can transform the developing world; you can make it happen.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone.

In collaboration with our Fellows and partners, we’re growing talent and developing skills for the future, driving innovation and building global partnerships, and influencing policy and engaging the public. Together we’re working to tackle the greatest challenges of our age.

The Academy is advertising a Programme Officer role within our Research Team on a seven-month fixed term contract. The Programme Officer role will support the delivery of the Academy's programme of research activities and to provide project management support, prompting excellence in engineering research, innovation and skills. The Academy runs a series of research support programmes for outstanding individuals who are delivering high-quality engineering research in the UK.

We are looking for the Programme Officer who can run efficient application and selection processes for grant schemes and help build and maintain engagement with a community of practice, making sure that grant recipients have a strong, beneficial relationship with the Academy, and each other.

In return, we offer an excellent package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes, as well as significant investment in your personal and professional development.

Our offices are based in central London near St. James' Park. We have adapted our working practices in response to Covid-19, and all staff are currently working remotely. This role is a seven-month fixed term contract.

We support flexible working and would be happy to discuss working patterns with candidates.
