Job description

A dream job for those with a passion for arts, culture, nature, science, and heritage. This exciting role within the Visitor Programming team at Kew Gardens helps us to support our new 10-year corporate strategy. Your role will be to manage the on-site day to day operations of our diverse range of programmes and events. You will have oversight of ticketing operations, crowd management, and management of contractors and creative practitioners.

Because of the nature of our programmes, this role is a offered on a zero-hour contract, to reflect the hours of the role. In general, we expect successful applicants to work approximately 30 days per year. This role includes regular evening and weekend work.

The Event Manager role sits within the Visitor Programmes team within Marketing Commercial & Enterprise Directorate at RBG Kew. The Directorate has a wide-ranging remit supporting the Kew’s mission, vision, and values. Our role is to develop an audience strategy and visitor programme which drives visitor numbers and revenue to the Gardens communicating the brand to the wider world.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding and significant experience of live event management, which may include a range of programming that appeals to a wide range of visitors. You will be a confident leader and work independently onsite with hosting teams.
