Job description

The stewardship team at Kew are responsible for all forms of donor acknowledgement and recognition for philanthropic supporters of Kew Foundation. We aim to provide an outstanding donor experience which ensures development teams achieve their fundraising strategies and goals.

We are recruiting a Stewardship Officer to support all stewardship activity, including donor acknowledgement and recognition, and coordinating mailouts of key communications. This role will have responsibility for the letters of thanks which go out to donors of all levels and are a key element of maintaining their relationship with Kew.

Kew Foundation’s mission is to fund Kew’s operating budget, its scientific research, and its capital needs. Our goal is to provide exceptional membership and donor services and deliver record fundraising to allow Kew to achieve its vision as the global standard bearer of plant and fungal research.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity to build on your existing communication, administrative, and customer service skills. It will also enable you to further develop your skills in financial administration, database management, and creative content writing in producing project impact statements.

To be a successful candidate, you must have solid experience of providing outstanding administrative or operational support and some experience of using a CRM database or similar. You must be self-motivated with excellent planning skills and a can-do attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will have an interest in, or passion for Kew’s core mission to be the global resource for plant and fungal knowledge, building an understanding of the world’s plants and fungi upon which all our lives depend.

You are collaborative and able to support at all levels; an essential team player willing to find creative solutions to complex challenges. You have excellent time management and project management skills and the ability to manage data and databases accurately and efficiently. You are creative, proactive and have an eye for detail. You can deliver outstanding customer service and are a skilled communicator. Previous experience and/or knowledge in stewardship or fundraising is desirable but not essential.
