As Awards and Committees Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for providing a proactive support service to the Committees and Chairs of a range of senior and influential College Committees, whilst also acting as the College lead by supporting members with their application to RCPCH for a supporting citation for their application for a national Clinical Impact Award (nCIA).
The Awards and Committees Co-ordinator is an exciting and varied role in which you will provide a high-quality administrative function covering both remits of Awards Management and Committee Management, ensuring effective management of the College Committees and efficiency for The College’s nCIA processes.
Reporting to the Head of Committees, you will ensure that specific senior committees of the College are organised and managed to the highest standards and that appropriate documentation and records are produced and maintained accordingly.
Taking responsibility for the awards process (RCPCH is a National Nominating Organisation) you will assist in the scoring and ranking of Regional Committees in assessing nCIA requests for support, whilst overseeing the collection and analysis of EDI data and embedding and documenting the inclusion of EDI principles in all activities.
You will also draft all communications for the College’s nCIA processes, in liaison with the Membership, Content and Brand and External and Public Affairs Teams, whilst supporting the awards processes including, advertisement, communications, applications and formal letters of notification.
Educated to a good standard and with demonstrable administrative experience in a similar role supporting stakeholder or senior management committees in their efficient operation, you will be able to take and prepare complete and accurate minutes for committee meetings.
With a background of collaborative working and excellent relationship building abilities across a variety of internal and external stakeholders, you should also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to show tact, discretion and diplomacy as necessary, along with a clear understanding and ability to manage information that is of a confidential and sensitive nature.
Previous experience of managing Awards, in particular nCIAs, along with database record management and experience of WordPress would be desirable.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.
The RCPCH has more than 20,000 members and fellows and employs around 170 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
