You will ensure the delivery of a high quality portfolio and provide crucial support to a major campaign that the College is spearheading to promote the medical profession of paediatrics.
We are looking for the postholder to lead the team that manages our successful Leadership and Education portfolio. The team’s varied and diverse portfolio includes:
- Delivering the College’s career support and mentoring programmes
- Supporting Consultants with their revalidation and CPD through our ePortfolio resource
- Working closely with clinical leads to devise and manage our leadership and overseas learning
- Leading our webinar provision and endorsement processes
Reporting to the Education and Professional Development Manager and working with key staff across the College and relevant clinical stakeholders, you will ensure the delivery of a high-quality portfolio. You will also provide crucial support to a major campaign that the College is spearheading to promote the medical profession of paediatrics.
To do this successfully, you should possess a track record of managing successful education related projects, a good understanding of quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation systems as well as knowledge of the key challenges currently facing paediatricians and their professional development.
We are looking for someone with suitable qualifications and experience, perhaps gained in the healthcare or professional body sector, together with evidence of your own continuing professional development. You should have experience of line and budget management as well as collaborative and stakeholder working across the whole training cycle.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.
The RCPCH has more than 20,000 members and fellows and employs around 170 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions all staff are currently working remotely. We will be returning to the office on 20 September 2021 where you will work in the office for a minimum of 60% of the week and the remainder from home.
