Job Description


The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is a non-profit medical charity based in Putney, south west London. We provide short and long-term specialist services for adults with complex disabilities resulting from damage to the brain or nervous system. Through our services, we work to enable people with profound neuro-disabilities to enjoy the optimal quality of life.

The Communications Department:

  • delivers a range of services including the development of marketing and communication strategies consistent with the RHN’s values whilst promoting and enhancing its reputation,

  • is responsible for brand management while communicating and sharing information with external stakeholders on key activities and initiatives,

  • creates a range of publications and marketing materials,

  • provides advice and guidelines on the use of branding and,

  • manages media relationships, press requests and PR activities.

Main objectives of the role are to;

  • provide support on a range of projects in line with the communications strategy and team objectives

  • support the fundraising team

  • plan, write, edit, coordinate and proofread internal / external publications and communications

Key responsibilities include;

  • Leading and managing a range of communications projects

  • Using the Adobe Creative suite to create a range of communications materials (digital and print)

  • Updating the corporate website and social media channels

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with mainstream and specialist media and supporting a range of press and media activities

  • Taking part in the Press Office out of hours on-call rota

  • Development of case studies and newsworthy stories

  • Supporting the planning and preparation of internal events (eg RHN Festival)
