About the Foundation

We believe every child deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of their background. Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation (“Royal SpringBoard”) is a social mobility charity working with more than 100 of the UK’s leading boarding and independent schools to harness the power of fully-funded bursaries and access to ‘outreach’ opportunities for children facing challenging circumstances. Our vision is to transform the lives of children and young people facing disadvantage or vulnerability by providing them with access to a great education.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate to develop a broad set of skills in charity management and communications and make a difference in lifting the life chances of some of the UK’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children. The Team Communications & Support Officer’s role is to provide communications, operational and administrative support across the charity’s programmes and fundraising activities. The role includes responsibility for external communications (social media, website, e-newsletters); as well as for all communications with the charity’s main stakeholders (children and young people, their families, schools and partner organisations). Joining a small team, you will have significant opportunities to gain insights into a wide range of charity roles, as you provide exemplary administrative support to the fundraising, programmes and CEO roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • work closely with all staff in the charity to provide communications, operational and administrative support across all programmes.
  • have full regard to Royal SpringBoard’s policies and procedures and uphold Royal SpringBoard’s reputation, aims and values

Communications support

  • Create and manage a communications schedule/planner to ensure coherence in the charity’s communications with schools, families and partner organisations
  • Day-to-day management of the charity’s web and social media presence, including drafting, editing and publishing content, and driving and responding to engagement
  • Plan and oversee the creation of engaging multi-media communications materials, including videos and photos that support fundraising and marketing efforts
  • Provide creative and operational support for communications projects, including annual reports, publications, toolkits, newsletters and other materials in line with brand guidelines
  • Support the development, promotion and organisation of charity events and training days

Operational support

  • Support the Programmes team to ensure efficient and effective communication, administration and tracking of all documents relating to pupils’ applications for a bursary place, and the documents that govern relationships between the charity, schools, partners and families
  • Provide general administrative support to the Programmes team, to ensure that the database is used effectively and all pupil, donor and other reports are received on time.
  • Provide support to the Fundraising Director and CEO in key events planning and organisation

What you can expect in return:

  • You will be part of a small, friendly and committed team. Although we are based in London, we are a flexible employer with many staff working remotely at certain times. Standard office hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm with an hour for lunch but the role is open to those seeking other, flexible hours.
  • Annual Leave: 6 weeks (30 days) excluding public holidays.
  • Probationary period: 6 months.
  • DBS: This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure.
  • Pension: If the post holder is over 21, they will be auto-enrolled into the NEST pension scheme but may request to opt out.

Making an application

Please apply using the standard charityjob processes, ensuring that you demonstrate how your skills and experience meet the person specification and reflect Royal SpringBoard’s values.

Applications should be returned by 5pm on Thursday 20th May 2021.
