About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate to develop a broad set of skills in charity management and communications and make a difference in lifting the life chances of some of the UK’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children. The Team Communications & Support Officer’s role is to provide communications, operational and administrative support across the charity’s programmes and fundraising activities. The role includes responsibility for external communications (social media, website, e-newsletters); as well as for all communications with the charity’s main stakeholders (children and young people, their families, schools and partner organisations). Joining a small team, you will have significant opportunities to gain insights into a wide range of charity roles, as you provide exemplary administrative support to the fundraising, programmes and CEO roles.
- work closely with all staff in the charity to provide communications, operational and administrative support across all programmes.
- have full regard to Royal SpringBoard’s policies and procedures and uphold Royal SpringBoard’s reputation, aims and values
- Create and manage a communications schedule/planner to ensure coherence in the charity’s communications with schools, families and partner organisations
- Day-to-day management of the charity’s web and social media presence, including drafting, editing and publishing content, and driving and responding to engagement
- Plan and oversee the creation of engaging multi-media communications materials, including videos and photos that support fundraising and marketing efforts
- Provide creative and operational support for communications projects, including annual reports, publications, toolkits, newsletters and other materials in line with brand guidelines
- Support the development, promotion and organisation of charity events and training days
- Support the Programmes team to ensure efficient and effective communication, administration and tracking of all documents relating to pupils’ applications for a bursary place, and the documents that govern relationships between the charity, schools, partners and families
- Provide general administrative support to the Programmes team, to ensure that the database is used effectively and all pupil, donor and other reports are received on time.
- Provide support to the Fundraising Director and CEO in key events planning and organisation
What you can expect in return:
- You will be part of a small, friendly and committed team. Although we are based in London, we are a flexible employer with many staff working remotely at certain times. Standard office hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm with an hour for lunch but the role is open to those seeking other, flexible hours.
- Annual Leave: 6 weeks (30 days) excluding public holidays.
- Probationary period: 6 months.
- DBS: This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure.
- Pension: If the post holder is over 21, they will be auto-enrolled into the NEST pension scheme but may request to opt out.
