Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a part-time Co-ordinator to join our team until March 2021.

Within a welcoming and team-focused environment, you will have the chance to undertake great training and make a positive difference to staff, visitors and patients.

Reporting to the Service Manager, your role will involve:

- Within a hospital setting, help to plan and hold events to raise awareness of the services available
- Train, support and motivate our volunteers to ensure coverage of key wards on a daily basis within the hospital ensuring company policies and standards are being adhered to
- Liaising with staff to support any pre-discharge requests
- Visiting clients in hospital to discuss and assess the support they need
- Maintaining paperwork and digital records

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:

- Knowledge and experience of recording data, monitoring and evaluation processes and maintaining databases
- The ability to provide appropriate support and supervision to volunteers
- The ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems including the Microsoft Suit, emails and the internet
- Excellent communication skills including delivering presentations, training and reports
- The willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development

Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of local services and the issues affecting older people, but this is not essential.

Experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups would be beneficial, as would a good level of education including GCSEs, Scottish Higher or beyond.

This is a part-time role, working 17.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
